This consultancy provides a unique opportunity for experienced public health and nutrition professionals to contribute to impactful knowledge products that support global nutrition strategies.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">background<\/h3>\n<p>For more than 20 years, Nutrition International has worked with the Government of Pakistan to implement and enhance large-scale food fortification programs. These efforts focus on fortifying staple foods such as edible oils, salt, and flour to address widespread micronutrient deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>With financial support from international donors such as Global Affairs Canada and the Gates Foundation, the organization continues to provide both technical and operational support to stakeholders in the public and private sectors. As these programs evolve, there is an increasing need to systematically document successes, challenges, and lessons learned to inform future interventions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consulting purpose<\/h3>\n<p>The main objective of this consultancy is to gather and analyze key insights from the LSFF program in Pakistan. The selected consultants will translate these insights into high-quality knowledge products designed for both technical and policy audiences.<\/p>\n<p>These results will play an important role in shaping future nutrition plans, strengthening policy frameworks, and building global evidence on food fortification.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scope of work<\/h3>\n<p>The consultant will perform a comprehensive review and documentation process including:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Desk review and evidence synthesis<\/h4>\n<p>A thorough analysis of program materials will be required. This includes internal documents such as project plans, strategy documents, donor reports, monitoring data, and progress updates.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the consultant will review external sources such as peer-reviewed publications, scientific reports, global guidelines, and relevant studies on fortified foods in Pakistan. The purpose is to synthesize research on the effectiveness, challenges, and impact of LSFF initiatives.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Stakeholder engagement<\/h4>\n<p>Regular consultation with the project team is a key element of this mission. Consultants will schedule at least two meetings per month with a designated focus to hone content, discuss progress, and address challenges.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Knowledge product development<\/h4>\n<p>Based on the agreed topics, the consultant will produce various deliverables, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manuscripts suitable for submission to peer-reviewed journals<\/li>\n<li>Conference abstracts, posters, and presentations<\/li>\n<li>Examples of dissemination inside and outside the company<\/li>\n<li>Program overview summarizing key survey results<\/li>\n<li>Policy overview for decision makers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All products must meet high academic and professional standards and be suitable for worldwide dissemination.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duration and timeline<\/h3>\n<p>The consulting period is 18 months from April 2026 to September 2027. Total effort level is estimated at 100 business days, allowing for flexibility in scheduling while ensuring timely delivery.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required qualifications and experience<\/h3>\n<p>This role is for an experienced professional with extensive experience in the field of public health nutrition and technical documentation. The main requirements are:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">professional experience<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 7-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience.<\/li>\n<li>Proven expertise in manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 articles published in prominent indexed journals<\/li>\n<li>Experience presenting research at national or international conferences<\/li>\n<li>Have worked with an international organization or NGO on a similar mission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">knowledge and skills<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deep understanding of public health nutrition, especially in the Asian context.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of food fortification strategies and interventions for micronutrient deficiencies<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, quality assurance systems and global guidelines for food fortification.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyze monitoring data and gain meaningful insights<\/li>\n<li>Excellent research, analysis and writing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application process<\/h3>\n<p>Interested consultants must submit a complete application package including proposal, resume, and cover letter.
